Unframed Giclée Print . Falmouth Packet Ship.

The Falmouth Packet Ships delivered mail and packages worldwide for over 150 years, between 1688 and 1850. The Falmouth Packet ships filled the harbour, landing at Greenbank or Custom House Quay. The Packet Service made Falmouth the information hub of the Empire, second only to London for knowing the news of the day.The end of the Packet era came in 1850, a result of the steam age. The newly built steamships were faster and more reliable than the old sailing packets and could thus reach London whatever the weather or circumstance.

The Giclée reproduction is of my original artworks, resulting in the highest quality fine-art Giclée prints. Giclée, is used to describe a fine art digital printing process combining pigment based inks with the highest quality acid free papers to achieve prints of superior archival quality, light fastness and stability.

The boat prints start out origionally as one of my unique signature appliqued boat design on a cushion. I find the different keels fascinating. I am constantly executing new designs so if you do not see the boat you are looking for drop me a line and I will get it designed. I use a quality linen front and applique on modern bright coloured sailcloth. Sometimes with bits of upcycled leather and embroidered masts. My cushions are edged in my signature relective piping.

I am very lucky to have excellent printers here in the West Country who have captured the detail in the cushions incredibly well.

The cushions get photographed and made into the prints. The colours in these Giclée prints are amazingly zingy. The prints are so detailed they look like they have been hand stitched.

The print is 30 x 30cm or 12 x 12" and will be posted out flat.
